Michael Phelps, Pot, & DMT

Stumbling across an article an article about on Michael Phelps, the 8 Gold Medal winner of the 2008 Olympics, I found this poem.

I just thought this was funny and shows how hypocritical man is sometimes... AHAHAHAHAHA

Also, did you know DMT is known in US, Canada and other countries as an illegal drug (Schedule 1) and it's a naturally occurring substance in the human body? Commonly found in the Pineal gland (brain)? Well, if you think just because someone makes a law you should follow it, think again, or rather, see how thinking works without your pineal gland. I don't know what it does, but I bet you it's important since it's in your brain.

Blego Definition

I don't normally post this stuff, in fact, it'll probably be my first and last time! I don't even have a proper category for it on Chexed.com, so I'm posting it ony my "That Which is I have been tagged with a meme! Honestly, I don't feel like looking for the definition of "meme" other than the one I know which isn't what it's used for here in the "blogosphere," but from what I gather many bloggers consider it nothing more than a chain letter. I feel at least this meme is quite different, because it contributes to the betterment of the whole, sharing knowledge amongst many, even if on a seemingly joking subject. I got this one from my friend, Amid. It originated apparently from someone named Wogan May. This meme is actually kind of funny too when reading the definitions made by contributors.

In this meme we're supposed to define what a "blego" is, which may or my not be anything before we define it. So what the heck do people consider a “blego”? Here are what others have tried to define it so far, plus my opinion what it ought to be:

Blego (evilwoobie.com’s definition) - n. an acronym of “blog ego”, which pertains to a blogger’s sense of self in the blogosphere.

Blego (Darkside-Dreamland.com’s definition) - n. a protologism combining blog and ego. Used to define the ego of a blog or blogger. Like personal ego, blego may be good or bad.

Blego (benbarden.com’s definition) - n. a toy for children to build with but with a B in front.

BLEGO (Wogan May’s definition) - abbr. Breaking Little Enterprises - Godzilla Organisations.

Blego (Blogosis.com’s definition) - n. An Eggo waffle and a blog mixed together. I don’t know what this would look like, but maybe I can come up with a prototype.

Blego (Amid’s defintion) - expression. “Bleh, let’s go!” If you’re being forced to go somewhere or do something, by your spouse or friends, just slur those words together and get “blego”. It is usually said after a big sigh. For example, “Do I have to? Hrmph! Blego!”

Blego (David Rader II's definition) - n. A type of blog which makes people go "bleh." Kind of like a "splog" is a spam blog, a blego is a "bleh blog." You could just say it's a bleg, but it's more cute to say blego. - Honestly, I think "bloggers ego" is my favorite pick, I just wanted to contribute something different.

A blog meme has rules, this one has rules.

I absolutely love writing and feel that anyone who expresses their thoughts and shares their experiences makes themselves more valuable more to the whole of society, so that's what I do, write for myself and everyone.

(everyone has their own experiences, I think it would be foolish to leave anyones opinions out if all were possible to take all of their opinions in)

2. Do you join social networks to promote your blog? If yes, do you hope to find friends in these social networks and in the process get regular readers of your blog?

Yes, I have joined many. I have found friends through their use as well. It's an excellent way to connect with other bloggers.

3. Do you or do you plan to join ranking sites that put your blog in competition with others for popularity? If yes, do you or do you plan to monitor your stats regularly?

No.

4. Do you tweak your blog often in accordance with the tips you get from blogging guides and gurus? If yes, list the bloggers you visit often to obtain these tips.

Mostly only Swollen Pickles... I think he may be a little newer to the blogging game than the top dogs are, which allows me to gain more from his experiences, especially because he expresses them honestly and most of his tips are something new bloggers can jump in on.

5. Do you think of your next post even if you have just written a new one? If yes, list your inspirations for posting, and/or some routines that you go through before posting.

Yes, I have many posts waiting to be posted. Over the course of more than 3 years of pen and pencil writing, I have boxes and boxes full of material... I'm just trying to organize it before I post it.

Many Blog Posts

In case you're wondering why I've been posting so much lately, it's because I've reinstalled Live Writer. So now that posting is much easier (again) I'm finding it difficult to restrain myself! I'll stop for now though!

Painters

This is my wife, Dawn and I. We're both painters. Took a picture of ourselves just before selling my first painting. Sold it for $50 bucks and ever since then have wished that I had given it to my friend for free.

Title of painting = Voiceless Being... I painted it about three or four years ago in candle light, this picture is from about two years ago.

Changing Tone

The tone of this blog is changing, just wanted to give you a heads up. You may hate me now, but know that I still love you. I'm just providing a different education through an altered method of education. Education through sarcasm, angst, wit, cynicism, and still the occasional shining light of optimism. Prepare yourself.

I have MILLIONS of blogs, ok, well like 3-10 and they're my MOST favorite. But I like other peoples blogs too. For instance, two that I frequent regularly are Swollen Pickles and Save Your Generation (Hilary The Guy).

They're both funny. Save your generation is satirical funny and hateful (just joking... mostly), while Swollen Pickles is more of a different type of funny, which I also enjoy... And you can also find some tips for blogging and making some cold hard digital cash that translates into real money for your bank.

666 Blog Reactions Six Hundred and Sixty Six

It's not very often that I login to Technorati.com, since practically no one ever visits my sites from there and there's no social stuff to really keep me there. On occasion, I do check the fire though... And today when I checked there were 666 blog reactions to my Chexed.com. This blog will probably put it up to 667, so I saved the image to show you!

New Blog Design

I'm spiffing things up around here. I've got a new background image, which is supposed to be in the public domain from Old Book Illustrations.

As far as I know the image I used is in the public domain. Please let me know if you know otherwise! I just inverted the colors on it and extracted the white while making the background color my banner the same as my page theme.

What Apple fails to realize - iTunes sucks for some Podcasters

I tried to signup for iTunes to submit my podcast, but it appears I absolutely have to enter payment information even though I plan on buying nothing. They may say I don't need to purchase anything, but why do I need to enter in my payment information then? I would feel much more secure about not entering in my payment information for things I don't want to buy.

This may seem great to Apple at first, because then more people are enticed to buy things, because it will be that much easier in the future.

What Apple fails to realize is for those people submitting content such as podcasters or directors, it scares them away (and rightly so) by giving them an illogical approach to sharing their video ("enter in your payment information to share your podcast). This hurts Apple because that means they have less content and will have less content. Apple is killing their own service... lol.

My parody impression of an Apple Representative as means of protest:
Hey, sign up for my services to watch free content and buy some if you want to, BUT YOU MUST GIVE ME YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION EITHER WAY. It doesn't sound like we're up to anything unethical... Accidental purchase? Wow, we thought at would be the least possible thing to happen, considering we make you enter in payment information even if you're not buying anything.

There should be an option to ask for payment information on each purpose and NOT save payment information on their servers. I suppose some things are too complicated for those who keep it proprietary (in the box)... Maybe they need to reach out more, take some ethics courses.

Maybe I'm being to hard, maybe I'm just the same... If so, please let me know my mistakes. If you don't think I'm being too hard, then let people know how their services could be better (cough cough, Apple, cough). Most companies enjoy quality feedback, but rarely take it into consideration unless a lot of people express their opinion.

So go, express your opinion either at Apple or here. Express to Apple and here if you do so prefer, which would be just as welcomed. Tell Apple to stop hindering your accessible content.

Diversify Your Blogging

Have you ever had something you want to blog about but you don't really want it on your current blog, but then at the same time you don't want to let the idea go to waste?

Start another blog on another service! That's what I did. That's a sign-up link to where I blog a little, share some photos and more. A little but detailed flash intro is there to explain the services good.

You get paid by number of profile views and by referring new members (and it doesn't effect their pay percentage either). Have fun blogging! :)

Blogger Profiles need Overhaul

Of every social service that I take part in, and I do take part in a lot... Considering the status of the Blogger company and even not considering the status, Blogger needs the most serious "profile" overhaul over every other service I play on.

It's one of the least uncustomizable profile interfaces that I've encountered in recent times. Even YouTube with it's strict limits on customizations appears to be better than the blogger interface. Blogger should in my opinion be a little more customization friendly than YouTube though... Anything to bring it up to par with modern profile pages would be very well welcomed, probably among most of the blogger community?

I'm NOT complaining about this free service so much as I'm voicing my opinion so that if others concur, maybe a few minutes can be spent on the profile service to keep new bloggers coming to blogspot to blog.

Turn Off Hindi Language Transliteration

I opted in to help Google with the Hindi language perfection and it was SO annoying in my opinion. I don't even know how to read hindi, it wasn't what I thought it was. I searched on the internet to find it and it took unnecessarily long.

All you do is go to settings and select NO where it says transliteration. I hope I have saved you the time and frustration I spent trying to find this.

More ranting: I searched for hindi language opt out in Google, and it didn't come up. I suppose transliteration is a word that everyone commonly remembers except me? Well, I'll remember it now, at least for a few hours. I've been posting for so many months having work work around each word I wrote being converted into Hindi. I tried hindu, sandscript, sandscrit, sanscrit and all kinds of other crap but OH no. After painless months of searching, I finally found out how here. You can also toggle hindi transliteration using CTRL + g (which I learned for "blogger keyboard shortcuts").

I've included this in my funny section on blogger because I know how much some people love to laugh at misery. LAUGH IN THE FACE OF DEATH, FEAR, AND THOSE WHO ARE HAVING MISERABLE EXPERIENCES!

Promote, Market, Share Your Blog Using very little time

Almost everyone one of us use eMails. I keep telling my friends with websites to put a link to your website, blog, myspace profile or other in your profile! Why?

In the midst of the chaos also known as life, even friends can forget website addresses. I'm sure some of my friends have websites or profiles that I don't even know about and I wish they would share them in their signatures! Sometimes I just lose track and my friends who do have links in their signatures, it reminds me, hey, instead of finding a free flash game on the internet, how bout I check out my awesome friends website?

Just make sure you like people you send emails with, so you don't send your boss to your myspace profile or flickr account in a thong, unless well, if you're into that kind of thing.

Tip: Don't post links to adult content. If your email provider finds out they may remove your email after having fun seeing what else you're in to. You'll have to read the Terms of Service (TOS) for your email provider to see if their friendly or not towards that kind of thing. Be afraid, TOS are usually warm, fuzzy, and enticing multiple page legal documents. Always consult a doctor if you want a doctored opinion.

Here's another tip I recommend to promote and share your blog/myspace/facebook/website.
